1. Zero tolerance for child abuse

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any content or behaviour aimed at the sexual abuse, exploitation, harassment or grooming of children is strictly prohibited on Faby.
• When such content or behaviour is detected or reported to us, we remove the content and close the accounts involved.
• We report CSAM and child abuse cases to the competent authorities in line with our legal obligations (for example, law enforcement and prosecutors in Turkey, NCMEC for cases involving the United States, and competent authorities in other countries concerned) and cooperate with authorities in investigations.

2. Safety by design

• No free-text chat: there is no chat or free-text messaging between users.
• Word-list nicknames: nicknames are chosen from fixed word lists; users cannot type a nickname as free text.
• Limited interaction: social features are limited to adding friends with a friend code, gifting a copy of a story, emoji reactions and a read-together room.
• Accounts are opened by adults: the account is created and managed by a parent who signs in with Google, Apple or email.
• Parental gate: purchases, settings, external links and sharing are protected by a simple adult check. The check is currently shown for some age groups and will be extended to all age groups in the next version.
• AI safeguards: child-safety instructions are added to AI requests and image prompts are sanitised automatically. Stories are not each reviewed by a person; automated safeguards are not perfect and AI output can occasionally be inappropriate. If this happens, please report it to us.
• Ads: ads in the free classic-tales section on Android are flagged as child-directed, limited to a maximum content rating of "G" and not personalised. There are no ads in iOS 5.3.0 and later.

3. How to report

If you are worried about a child's safety, or have come across inappropriate content or behaviour, write to us:

• Email: info@yelkovan.ai
• Subject: "Child Safety Report"
• Helpful to include: the story title or the screen concerned, the date, the nickname or friend code of the user involved, and a short description.

An in-app "Report" option will be added in the next version; until then, reports are taken by email. We handle child-safety reports with priority.

Important: If you have seen abuse material, please do not copy, save or send it to us. Just tell us where you saw it, and also report it directly to the authorities: in the United States, the NCMEC CyberTipline; in Turkey, İhbar Web or law enforcement; elsewhere, an INHOPE member hotline. If a child is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.

4. What we do after a report

• We review the report and, where needed, remove content and restrict or close the accounts involved.
• We use reports of inappropriate AI output to improve our safeguards.
• We report cases involving suspected CSAM or child abuse to the competent authorities in line with our legal obligations.

5. Compliance with law

Faby is committed to complying with applicable child safety and child protection laws. We update these standards as the app and the law change.

7. Tips for parents

• Consider using a nickname as the character name, and don't type details such as an address or school name into story inputs.
• Share your friend code only with people you know. Remember that gifted stories may contain the character name.
• Look through stories before sharing them with your child and supervise your child's use of the app.
• You can manage notifications in your device settings.
