What is Faby and who uses it?

Faby is an app that writes, illustrates and narrates personalised stories with AI based on the details you enter. You (the parent or legal guardian) open the account by signing in with Google, Apple or email. One free story can be created as a guest without an account; guest stories are deleted after 7 days.

What do you enter?

• Child (character) profile: name, age band, gender, appearance description. You can use a nickname instead of a real name.
• Story inputs: names, themes, lessons (max. 200 characters).
• Optional: a photo for "dress by photo" (deleted right after analysis), drawings for the Drawing Atelier, and a voice recording of at least 60 seconds by an adult for voice cloning.

Who receives it?

• Anthropic (USA): writes the story text; receives the story input and the child profile, including the name.
• Replicate (USA): illustrations (appearance description, without the name), narration (story text, which may include the name) and voice cloning.
• OpenAI (USA): some illustrations (without the name), photo and drawing analysis.
• Google (Firebase / Google Cloud, EU region): hosting, sign-in, notifications and our own analytics.
• Apple, Google and RevenueCat: purchases and subscriptions.

From the next version, the app will ask for your consent before sending a child's details to AI providers (Parental Consent). Voice cloning already asks for consent.

Ads and analytics

• Android: the free classic-tales section shows Google AdMob ads (a banner and, for some tales, a short video). Ads are flagged as child-directed, rated "G" at most and not personalised.
• iOS: no ads and no Google Firebase Analytics in version 5.3.0 and later; older iOS versions may show ads similar to Android.
• Analytics: we measure app use with our own system; this data is linked to user and device IDs (it is not anonymous). Raw records are deleted after 365 days. On Android, Google Firebase Analytics is also used to measure purchases (advertising ID collection disabled).

Notifications and social features

• We send story-ready, system and promotional notifications; you can turn notifications off in your device settings. An in-app switch for promotional notifications will be added in the next version.
• There is no chat or free-text messaging between users. Nicknames are chosen from word lists. Gifted stories may contain the character name.
• Purchases, settings, external links and sharing are protected by a simple adult check (currently for some age groups, for all age groups from the next version).

How do I delete my account?

Profile → (parent check if asked) → Account Actions → Delete Account. If you cannot access the app, write to info@yelkovan.ai with the email address linked to your account or your friend code. Requests are completed within 30 days at the latest. Remember to cancel your subscription separately in the App Store or Google Play. Details: Delete Your Account.

Seen something inappropriate?

We use automated safeguards, but stories are not each reviewed by a person and AI output can occasionally be inaccurate or inappropriate. Please report the story title and date to info@yelkovan.ai. An in-app "Report" option will be added in the next version. Details: Child Safety Standards.
